Slavutich residents have got a lot of traditions but one of the most bright and memorable is Slavutich Day. It would have been already unnatural to see Slavutich on the first Saturday of June without festively decorated streets, child’s carnival and numerous guests marching along the central Slavutich avenue Druzhba Norodov to the Town central square where Slavutich Head Vladimir Udovichenko opens festivities.

In 1989 there was made the decision about conducting of the festival in the next week after Kiev Day. Every year it has special mottos: "How Can’t I Love You, My Slavutich", "Slavutich! My Town is My Destiny", "Garland of Songs Above Slavutich", "I Am a Resident of My Town", "Slavutich is Our Home". This, 2005 year a big programme of social, cultural and artistic and sportive festival activities is being prepared with the motto "Slavutich is a New Generation -Friendly Town".

Dozens of the best Town representative are honored, they are handed diplomas, gratuities with clocks with the Town Emblem, honors "For Personal Input into the Town Development" and "Slavutich Freeman".

Necessary component of the festival procedure are two Anthems – State Anthem of Ukraine and the Town Anthem "Slavutich White Angel" as well as hoisting of two flags on the central square.

In the course of 18-year Slavutich history celebrated artistic groups of Ukraine greeted Slavutich: National Academic Dancing Company named after P.Virsky, National Choir named after Grigory Viriovka. The Town guests were People’s National and Honoured Actors of Ukraine Vasily Zinkevich, Svetlana and Vitaly Bilonozhko, Nazaroy Yaremchuk, Pavel Zibrov, Sophia Rotaru, Irina Bilik, Any Lorak, Oksana Bilozir, Nadezhda Shestak, Taisia Povaliy, Maria Burmaka and a lot of other star variety performers.

As usual young Slavutich residents are treated with free ice-cream. At the end of the festival at midnight unforgettable bright firework blossoms in SLavutich Sky.
