"Development of "Plan of Activities" for Softening of Social Consequences after Chornobyl NPP Closure", 1997.

The Project results:

• The Town Programme "Plan of Activities" was developed.

• The mechanism of investment attraction for creating of new compensating jobs was developed.

• The Fund of the Town Development was created.

• Programme of Municipal Reforms was developed.

• System of providing of informational and consulting services for ChNPP workers and the Town residents was created.

2. าภัฒS Project

"Strengthening of Employment Service and Economic Development of the Region", 1997

The Project results:

• Programme on Career-Guidance was developed.

• The Committee on Career-Guidance and Professional Education was created.

• Computer training class was created.

• Regular edition of informational bulletin of the Employment Centre which informs Slavutych residents about the labour-market.

• The unemployed were taught how to use computer.

3. าภัฒั Project

"Integrated Temporary Support of Slavutych Town for Softening of Social Consequences after Chornobyl NPP Closure": creation of the Business Development Agency and increasing of the local administration capacity. Project นCNPP2, 12.1996-08.1997)

The Project results:

• The concept of the Business Development Agency creation was defined, the Programmes of training were developed and the spheres for consulting services were defined.

• Organisation of completely functioning of Slavutych Business development Agency.

• Development of Strategic Plan for Slavutych and corresponding management structures.

• Training Programmes for ChNPP Subdivisions’ workers were conducted.

4. าภัฒS Project

"Softening of Social Consequences after Chenobyl NPP Closure". Project น EDUR 9804. 08.2000 –12.2001)

The Project results:

• "Business Incubator" was created as effectively acting structure for beginning business support;

• The Building of savings bank which is in Geroiv Dnipra Street, 2, was reconstructed which made it possible to enlarge Business Incubator area for 185 m2 and additionally place 9 client companies;

• 23 companies became clients of Business Incubator;

• 145 new jobs were additionally created;

• 6 working places were created for temporary using by Business Incubator beginning entrepreneurs and clients for whom it is unprofitably to rent premises constantly. The working places are equipped with office furniture, equipment, local network and means of communication.

• competitions of business ideas were conducted in order to find more perspective ones for implementation in practical activity and also for assistance in their implementation from the side of TACIS Programme experts (number of the competitions participants is 38 people);

After conducting of the competitions:

• 7 business plans were developed;

• 3 participants obtained credit resources for implementation of their business ideas;

• 14 participants are constant clients of the Business Development Agency;

• 10 participants are Business Incubator subjects;

• Practical assistance in development of 73 business plans was given for Slavutich entrepreneurs. The total number of jobs, created in accordance with the developed business plans, is 1,601.

• 11 Training Programmes were conducted. Number of participants of the trainings is 108.

• Base of investment proposals, including 19 business ideas, was formed.

• The assistance was provided for drawing up of 30 applications for obtaining of credit resources.

• They helped to register 32 enterprises;

• The following Manuals were developed:

1. Enterprise Registration Procedure.

2. Development of Regulations Documents.

3. Manual for Business Consultants on Registration of Enterprises.

4. Methods of Business Idea Evaluation.


5. USAID Project, Loyola College

"Creation of Business Incubator of Small Business" 1999-2001.

Project results:

• Instructors on remote training were prepared;

• Administrative office of Small Business Incubator was created;

• The building "Daugava" was overhauled and reconstructed and 9 client companies wre placed there;

• Computer laboratory was created;

• Modern Training Centre was created, where trainings, seminars and presentations are conducted.

• Corporate Internet network was created for Business Incubator. Business Incubator clients obtained additional services of "speed" Internet (up to 2 ฬbit/sec), opportunity to conduct conferences, local link between all buildings of Business Incubator;

• 8 clients of Small Business Incubator obtained credit resources for the total sup of 140,488 hrn.

• 105 new jobs were created.

• 4 Training Programmes were conducted


6. USAID Project, Centre of Economic Initiatives, USA "Programme of Studying Tours for Ukrainian Companies".

Project results:

• Competition for candidates for studying tours was conducted;

• 3 seminars were conducted;

• Meetings and "round tables" with participants of studying tours were conducted;

• 31 representatives of Slavutych companies went on studying tours including:

15 people – in the sphere of "Information Technologies";

16 people – in the sphere of "Construction Technologies";

• Final report on the results of studying tours were prepared;


7. USAID Project, Programme of Corps of Experts-Volunteers "Development of Tourism in Slavutych Region".

Project results:

• Volunteer of the Corps of Expert-Volunteers was attracted to Slavutych to work in the field of tourism development in the Region for the period of 1 month;

• 3 training – seminars were conducted;

• Programme of Tourism Development in the Region Slavutych – ChNPP – 30 km Exclusive Zone was developed;

• Public Organisation "Coordinative Council on Development of the Region through the Tourism Development";

8. BIZPRO Project "Voucher Programme Training Conducting"

Project results:

• 23 trainings were conducted, 220 people – beginning and existing entrepreneurs - took part in them;

9. DTI Project "Softening of Social Consequences after ChNPP Closure"

9.1. Development of Strategic Plan of the Agency development

Results:

• 2 Agency specialists took part in studying tours in Great Britain to study mechanisms of investment attraction, working experience of investment centers, Business Incubators and Regional Development Agencies.

• Strategic plan of the Agency development for the period 2003-2007 was developed.

9.2. Creation of Regional Development Department

Results:

• Regional Development Department staff were selected for training

• 26 Training Programmes were conducted for RDD staff (296 hours)

• Equipment for the Department was purchased

• Developed Site of the Town "Slavutych Region"

• Developed Strategic Plan of Regional Development Department activity with indication of the main strategic directions of the Department investment activity.

• Information, relating current news in the sphere of entrepreneurship legislation, vacancies, proposals for cooperation and partnership, is constantly collected and placed on the Web-Site of Slavutych Region.

• Mechanism, of investment attraction in Slavutych Region is being developed and positive experience in this direction is being studied.

• Database of the Town entrepreneurs’ business ideas, donor, credit and financial establishments is being formed.

• Presentation of the Regional Development Department was conducted for Slavutych entrepreneurs on the Community Council on the Town Development and on the session of Associations of Ukrainian Regional development Agencies.

9.3. Increasing Business Competitiveness in Slavutych through Building the Capacity of the Business Development Agency"

Results.

• Marketing survey was conducted to find out which kinds of training services are necessary for Slavutych entrepreneurs.

• Training class was created

• Legal Service Department was created

• Accounting Service Department was created

• 8 new Training Programmes were developed

• System of Finance management was implemented


9.4. Increasing Business Opportunities for SMEs in Slavutych through Building the Capacity of the Business Development Agency

Results.

• Slavutych Resource Passport was developed (printed and multimedia versions 200 copies each);

• Database of Slavutych entrepreneurs was formed and is being regularly up-dated;

• "Round table" and focus-groups were conducted with participation of representatives of the Tender Committees existing on the territory of Slavutych and representatives of business in order to find out problems which are common for suppliers of goods and services, work performers (more than 20 people took part);

• Marketing researches were conducted on the new directions of the business with using fibre-optic line;

• Studying tours, seminars on studying of cluster and franchising technologies in the sphere of tourism, trade and catering for Slavutych were organized and conducted in Ukrainian cities (about 40 people took part in these events);

• Training about the Quality System ISO 9000 was conducted.

• 200 copies of manual "Organisation and Conducting of Purchasing of Goods, Work, Services" were issued

• Seminar on project management was conducted for Slavutych entrepreneurs (10 people);

• Seminar on the rules of Tender conducting was conducted for Slavutych entrepreneurs (10 people);

• Slavutych Web-Portal "Tenders and Purchases" was created;

• General monitoring of the results of the conducted Tender was carried out, 2 reports were prepared.

• 3 trainings on human resources management, strategic management, finance management were conducted.

PLAN

  • Development of the Brochure "Information Technologies in Business";
  • 2 studying tours – seminars on issues of studying of new concepts of business development in the sphere of informational technologies, construction, consumer and municipal services were organised and carried out;
  • Final monitoring of the conducted trainings results was performed;
  • 3 business-plans were developed on the priority directions (using of fibre-optic line);
  • The finance analysis of 10 Slavutych enterprises was conducted using licensed software;
  • Packages of documents were prepared for 3 Slavutych enterprises for obtaining credit resources;
  • 10 packages of Tender documents with Tender Proposals were developed for Slavutych companies for their participating in Tenders.
  • Assistance in obtaining licenses for 3 Slavutych entrepreneurs for performing of licensed activities
  • Conducting of trainings for the managers of companies:
