The Town Authorities openly respond to the residents’ wishes to be active in the life of the Town because they are obviously interested in establishing of close interaction with the Community regarding it as a model of effective solution of many different important problems. The Community Council is actively attracted to the previous approving and Community supervising of the Projects of the Town Council’s, Executive Committee’s decisions on the most important issues of the Town life. As a result of this process the administrative decisions are becoming more improved and more correspond to the Community interests. This Public Organisation also plays indispensable role in lobbying of the Town interests on the Regional and State levels. Practically every Administration meeting approves the decision to apply to higher State officials, central and regional Authorities. By these actions the Organisation tries to attract attention to the situation in the Town and make correspondent demands, requests on the issue. Systematic Slavutych Community’s "pressure" noticeably influences on making decisions necessary for the Town.

Because of the Community Council activity, cooperation with the Town Authorities it became possible to solve such important problems.

At the Administration meeting there was elaborated the organisational and economical mechanism of implementation of projects for the Town development, besides those whish are already successfully implemented. One of them is Special Economic Zone "Slavutych" which can help to create about 2,000 new jobs in the near future.

Special working groups within the framework of the Organisation prepared all necessary materials for creation of Fund for the Town Development, Business Incubator, candidates for executive positions of some other enterprises were approves at the meetings of the Administration.

In general, during the work of the Community Council at 135 meetings of its Administration about 500 issues have been considered. Main of these issues are connected with social protection of ChNPP people and the Town residents, cooperation with international organizations, activity of the Town mass media, implementation of the Plan of Actions "United Project EC – Ukraine – USA", regarding of investment and business-projects, assignation to the municipal property, providing the residents with social services, activity of Micro-Credit Fund and others.

The members of the Community Council participate in seminars, conferences on different aspects of social and industrial relations, announcing their position regarding the priorities of Slavutych development before International and National Community.

This Community Organisation has made a considerable input in establishing of friendly partnership international and regional relations of Slavutych.

Representatives of the USA Department of Energy, delegations of the cities Richland (USA), Krasnoperekopsk (Crimean Autonomic Republic), Khubey Province (Chinese People’s Republic) have taken part in the work of this Organisation.

Special Awards - Memorable Signs "For Active Participating in Social and Economical development of the Slavutych Town" and Gratuity form the Head of the Council were established. It plays positive role in development of institutes of self-governing. Regulations for these Awards were developed and approved according to which the members of "Community Council on the Slavutych Town Development", residents of the Town, citizens of Ukraine and other countries who make considerable input into the development of Slavutych are awarded with the Memorable Sign of the Gratuity. During the time of the Council activity 21 people were awarded with the Memorable Sign including representatives of the USA for assistance in creation and financing of the Radiological Laboratory. 18 Gratuities were announced to the members of the Community Council and other residents of the Town. Both Awards are evidence of considerable deserts before the Community and that is why are very prestige in the Town. Aspirations to get them are a strong stimulus for active, productive work in favour of Slavutych people.

In this context of upbringing of patriotism to their Town there may be considered initiation of the Community Council to develop symbols of the Town. This initiative as supported by the Town Council. Open Competition was announced. Special Commission including representatives of the Authorities, political parties, public organizations, religious groups and businesses approved the project of Slavutych Emblem which was lately approved by Slavutych Council.

Implementing the tasks of the widest attraction of the Town residents to the local problems, the Community Council is searching modern organisational forms of provision Slavutych residents with information, which will help to react adequately to the interests of the Community, forecast them and direct the social and economical development of Slavutych. Taking this in account the Organisation has studied the issue and support the idea of creation of the Public Television in Slavutych, strengthening of the positions of the local periodical editions.

Systematical coverage of activity and positions of "Community Council on the Slavutych Town Development" in the mass media on the basis of objectivity, pluralism of opinions and views promotes creation of unified informational field, improves general effectiveness of the Town Authorities.

Summarizing everything mentioned above there can be stated the innovation activity of the Community Organisation "Community Council on the Slavutych Town Development" is one of successful forms of improving of governing of the Town in general, attraction of Community initiatives for implementation of further development of the Town economy through its restructuring, enlarging of production, sphere of services, creation of new jobs and as a result growth of the Town’s prosperity.
