Rating Agency of "Institute of Reforms"Analytical Center has been conducting comparative analysis of social and economic development of Ukraine on the level of the cities of Region significance for already two years. This time such a research has included 176 town and cities including Kyiv and Sebastopol. Analysis was conducted on the basis of the freshest official data available on the state of 10th February, 2005.

With considerable advance at the top of this table are Kyiv, Slavutych, Yuzhne and Uzhgorod. We should mention the fact that most of the leaders except Boryspil and Region Centres are mono-functional cities among which towns – satellite of Power Plants predominate. From among the biggest (on number of citizens) cities on the positions just next to the capital are Lviv and Dniptopetrovsk.
