WILL SLAVTICH GOT PRIVILIGIES?!

Supreme Council has passed as a basis in the first reading the law draft which brings changes and additions to the Law of Ukraine "About General Basis of the Further Operation and Decommission of Chernobyl NPP and Transforming of Destroyed ChNPP Unit 4 into Environmentally Friendly System".

The document supposes to absolve from VAT and import duty of delivering operation on the customs territory of Ukraine of the goods and equipment which is used for development of production and creation of new jobs in Slavutich. Gennagiy Rudenko, the Chairman of the Committee on Issues of Ecology Policy of Nature Management and Liquidation of Chernobyl Accident Consequences, pointed out that such privileges were temporary and valid up to 1st January 2004. In accordance with his words the draft foresees extension of the term of the mentioned above privileges up to the 1st January 2010.

Besides this the Draft foresees that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will specially assign means for financing of the activities on liquidation of the negative sequences connected with Chernobyl NPP closing in Slavutich. It is also foreseen temporary, up to the 1st January 2010, suspension of transferring of means from Slavutich budget into Government budget of Ukraine, Ukrinform informs.
